Elementary Autistic Support Teacher
Certification: Must possess an active PA certificate in Special Education PK-12 (9231) or Special Education PK-8 (9227)
Description: The general duties of an autistic support teacher include collaborating with the IEP team to create, implement, and monitor individualized education plans for students with autism, ensuring that academic and behavior goals are met; planning and delivering instruction tailored to the unique learning styles and needs of students with autism, using evidence-based teaching strategies and adaptive materials; developing and implementing behavior intervention plans as necessary to address challenging behaviors, promoting positive alternatives and social skill development; regularly collecting and analyzing data to assess student progress; fostering inclusion within the general education classroom, collaborating with general education teachers, specialists, and support staff to ensure a supportive and inclusive learning environment; maintaining open and proactive communication with parents or guardians, providing updates on student progress and strategies for supporting learning at home; integrating adaptive technology and assistive devices to support students with autism in their learning and communication; and fulfilling all other duties associated with the role of an elementary autistic support teacher.

Elementary Reading Specialist
Certification: Must possess an active PA certificate as Reading Specialist PK-12 (7650)
Description: The Elementary Reading Specialist plays a vital role in delivering high-quality instruction, support, and leadership to enhance student outcomes in reading and literacy. This position helps establish both school-wide and individual reading goals, provides targeted interventions, and collaborates with teachers to implement classroom supports. The Reading Specialist fosters a culture of reading by promoting strong instruction, enthusiasm for books, and a shared institutional commitment to literacy. Key responsibilities include coordinating and facilitating literacy programs, supporting teachers with instructional strategies, and assisting struggling students in improving their literacy skills. Additionally, they collaborate with educators across subjects to implement best practices, analyze data to assess program effectiveness, provide targeted small-group interventions, conduct assessments to guide instruction, and assist in placing students in appropriate reading and writing support services. Regular collaboration with classroom teachers ensures literacy instruction aligns with student needs. Other duties may be assigned by the building principal as needed.

Description: The general duties of an elementary teacher include planning standards-aligned, grade appropriate lessons; designing engaging instructional activities to facilitate delivery of district curriculum; implementing accurate and effective assessment strategies; creating and maintaining a safe and welcoming learning environment for students; communicating effectively with students, parents, colleagues, and administration; collaborating as part of a grade level team; maintaining accurate records; and fulfilling all other duties associated with the role of an elementary educator.

Long-term Substitute Elementary Counselor
Certification: Must possess an active PA Elementary and Secondary School Counselor (1839) certificate
Description: The general duties of an elementary school counselor include providing comprehensive support services to students in grades K through 6; developing relationships with students and families to support a safe and welcoming environment for all students; meeting with students individually to address acute and ongoing mental, emotional, and academic needs; communicating effectively with students, parents, colleagues, and administration; serving as a liaison between school personnel, families, and outside service providers; facilitating PSSA testing and other forms of school-wide assessment; conducting small and large-group lessons on topics related to student academic success, social skill development, relationship-building, etc.; overseeing the implementation of career readiness/exploration activities; taking a leadership role in the school's PBIS and SAP programs; and fulfilling all other duties associated with the role of an elementary school counselor.

Long-term Substitute Speech Language Pathologist
Certification: Must possess an active certificate in PA Speech and Language Impaired PK-12 (9265)
Description: The general duties of a Speech and Language Pathologist include conducting speech and language screening and diagnostic evaluation; providing input as a member of the IEP team and serving as case manager for qualifying students; developing and implementing programming for children exhibiting speech and language difficulties; communicating and collaborating with parents, teachers, support staff, administration, and service providers; maintaining knowledge of legal, ethical, and professional practices to remain in compliance with Federal and State mandates, as well as local policies; conducting progress monitoring; and fulfilling all other duties associated with the role of a special education life skills teacher.

Long-Term Substitute Occupational Therapist
Certification: Must possess an active Occupational Therapy license in the state of Pennsylvania.
Description: A school occupational therapist (OT) provides essential services to students with diverse needs to help them achieve their academic, social, and personal goals. The Occupational therapist works with students in grades K-12 to support their ability to participate in academic and school activities by addressing physical, emotional, and cognitive limitations; works closely with students, parents, teachers, and other school staff to develop and implement individualized plans that help students succeed in the school environment; conduct assessments and evaluations of students to identify strengths, weaknesses, and areas of need; observe students in various settings (classroom, playground, etc.) to understand their abilities and challenges; develop and implement individualized therapy plans tailored to each student's needs; provide direct therapy services to students, individually and in groups, to improve fine and gross motor skills, sensory processing, and functional abilities; participate in IEP (Individualized Education Plan) meetings and provide expert input to guide the creation and modification of plans; educate teachers and staff on strategies to support students' needs in the classroom; teach students self-help skills and coping strategies to enhance their independence; implement accommodations and modifications in the classroom and school environment to support student success; advise on the selection and use of adaptive equipment and assistive technology; monitor and document students' progress and adjust therapy plans as needed; maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including session notes and reports; and fulfill all other duties as assigned by the Director of Special Education and/or Building Principal.

Special Education Paraprofessionals & Personal Care Aides
Qualifications: Preferred that candidates possess an associate degree or higher OR have completed at least two (2) years of postsecondary studies. Those who do not meet either criteria must meet a rigorous standard of quality as demonstrated through a state or local assessment, which the district will facilitate during year one of employment.
Description: The general duties of a paraprofessional/PCA include but are not limited to assisting students with special needs with general daily classroom activities under the direction of a certified teacher; assisting with implementation of behavioral support and health plans; supporting students in the general education setting; providing care and support for students' physical and emotional health; ensuring students' personal safety; assisting with data collection procedures at the direction of a certified teacher or administrator; and fulfilling all other duties as assigned by the Director of Special Education and/or Building Principal.

Compensation: $16.00 per hour
